What is BBC’s Mission statement?
BBC exists to glorify God by MAKING DISCIPLES.
All believers are to glorify God
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

The game plan for local churches is to make disciples
Go therefore and MAKE DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the ‘to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

The process for MAKING DISCIPLES is to reach, assimilate and teach people.

What does “go” mean?
Go: to attempt to do something

• Present participle: while you are going, make disciples
• Jesus assumed the disciples would be sharing their story

But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:19-20

Where do we “go”?
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

• Jerusalem/Judea: Cultural comfort (Acts 1-7)
• Samaria: Cultural discomfort (Acts 8-9)
• End of the earth: Multi-cultural liaisons (Acts 10-28)

Why do we “go”?
Because of the need
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38

Because it’s in our job description
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18

• Some are gifted
• All are expected

How do we “go”?
Share with them
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. Acts 8:35

• Present the truths of the Gospel (Verbalizing breeds confidence)
• Ask for the commitment
• Be positive if someone is not interested
• Deal with potential questions

Bring them
Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:45-46

Two things to think about:

• Do you see your world through the eyes of God?
• My goal for you this year is that you would be a people who Go and Grow!

Women of the Church are invited to attend a bible study that will be starting very soon. The study will cover “Live Deeply: a Study in the Parables of Jesus”, a part of the “Fresh Life” series, by Lenya Heitzig and Penny Rose.

For convenience there will be two different meeting times during the week.

The Fresh Life series was created by women, for women who crave a profound experience of God’s Word. Perfect for every age, appropriate for groups or individual study, and intended for today’s on-the-go woman, these Bible studies require just 20 minutes a day for a meaningful contemplation of God’s Word

In Live Deeply, women will dig deeper into the meaning of Jesus’ parables to uncover their important meaning for their walk with Christ. Based on the inductive Bible study method, each lesson conjures vivid imagery of the sights and sounds of Ancient Israel alongside poignant application questions for today. There’s something here for Christians of all shapes and sizes everyone will leave with a more profound understanding of Christ’s amazing parables.

Lenya Heitzig is an ECPA Gold Medallion Winner author and popular Bible teacher. After beginning her ministry as a single women’s counselor with Youth With a Mission, Lenya married Skip and together they started Calvary of Albuquerque, one of the fast-growing churches in the country. The author of Holy Moments and coauthor of Pathways to God’s Treasures, Lenya currently serves as Director of Women at Calvary, overseeing weekly Bible studies and yearly retreats. Lenya and Skip live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The AWANA season officially started Wednesday September 14th with an opening attendance of about 30 kids.

AWANA is available to children K-6th grade and takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. AWANA is an international, Bible-centered children’s and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs, programs and training for students in preschool through high school. Our goal is to equip churches to reach kids, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. (Learn about the prayer, vision, mission and valuesof Awana.)

The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The kids are split up into three age groups; Cubbies (K), SPARKS (Grades 1 & 2), and Truth & Training (Grades 3-6) in order to help them better learn for their level of development.
